Travel Chaos and Panic Spending

Today marks 1 day until I head away on my holiday, and this week has been a roller-coaster of emotions. I have cried so many times that I have lost count.
The week started off with trying to pack on Sunday. I thought that I was doing fine as my suitcase was already pretty big. That all changed when my Aunt came over at about 4 pm to say goodbye that she pointed out that I still had a lot to fit in my suitcase but that there was not a lot of room left. So off I sped to a local home-wares store known for its sales to get a bigger suitcase, unsure of when the shop closed or if they would have anything bigger. I am happy to report that I found one in ridiculously bright pink with lime green trim and that I am completely packed.
Now for the travel chaos part of this. Over the weekend it came out that the countries biggest airport was having a fuel shortage problem as the main av-gas pipe had been cut and fuel supply was down around 70% (don't quote me on that). So after all the craziness with packing, the next hurdle was a potential flight delay. Sunday ended with me on the phone for about an hour with our airline to see if they knew anything about our flight tomorrow or when they would know something. I did get some good information which I passed on to the people at work in the morning.
Fast forward to today, My mother is getting stressed as we haven't heard anything about our flight (which is good news) and that the same flight from yesterday arrived 3 hours later than it normally would (flights are being diverted to other places to refuel). I have spent most of my morning in tears from one thing or another as the stress from mum is affecting me now, and I am still trying to finish as much work as possible before I finish tomorrow afternoon.
Hopefully, the rest of the work-week goes smoothly for me and that we get to our destination on time.
